The project is to convert a legacy VC++ based system to Windows Vista. The system comprises several multi-threaded applications that manage a network of controllers. It integrates with a few third party software components. |

A full-time or temp-to-perm position in Boston, MA area.

Duties & Responsibilities |
|
| |
Collaborate with the Project Manager throughout the project in order to devise and implement a conversion strategy.
Convert VC++ code from Visual Studio 2003 to Visual Studio 2005.
Team up with Quality Engineers to define test plans.
Convert VC++ code to execute on Windows Vista. This includes upgrading third party components.
Fix any issues identified during the conversion.

Requirements |

Education: Bachelor in Compter Science/IT Systems/Engineering, Masters preferred
Experience: 7+ years of experience, VC++, Visual Studio 2003 and 2005, MFC, MS .NET Framework 2.0/3.0, C#, Multi-threading, OCX, SQL Server, SQL, stored procedures, Good debugging/troubleshooting skills
Desirable: Visual Source Safe, Access database, Ethereal, MSMQ, ODBC, Strong Communication Skills |
